WinStar Installation and Update Instructions 2025-1

  1. Perform all Windows Operating System updates prior to any WinStar updates.

  2. Check the current version of the WinStar Software.  Your system must be completely up to date prior entering the Activation Code for new installations or renewals.

    1. Open the WinStar program.

    2. Click  WinStar Informations then Information.

    3. In the center of the screen, find the WinStar Release Number.

    4. If the WinStar Release Number is older than 2025-1, you will need an update. (FIG. 1)

  3. Next, download and install WinStar update 2025-1.

    1. Close WinStar before any updates.

    2. Click on the following link to download the update.  https://drive.google.com/file/d/1StpW3Fik30G4QoANMPpT-JfZ4SgGLvCH/view?usp=sharing.  It is also possible to type this link into your web browser to download.

    3. After the file is downloaded, click on the file to open then select SETUP.EXE.

    4. Follow the prompts to install.  When asked, choose the COMPLETE installation.  Do not choose the TYPICAL installation.

    5. When the update has finished, restart the computer. (FIG. 2)

  4. Activate WinStar.

    1. Open WinStar and click on WinStar Informations, then License Activation.

    2. Find the Program Code.  You will need this Program Code later. (FIG. 3)

    3. Go to www.spanesi.us and click on Support at the top of the screen.  Next, log in to WinStar Online with the user name and password provided by Spanesi Americas. (FIG. 4)

    4. Follow the prompts to generate the Activation Code.  You will be asked for the Program Code from the WinStar software from earlier.

    5. Click Copy Activation Code in WinStar Online.  Then click Paste in the WinStar software.

    6. You will now receive a message “Activation Successful”. (FIG. 5)
